WatchProSite's own watchguy1234 shares an exquisite example of independent watchmaking, the Laurent Ferrier Galet Micro-Rotor with a 'salmon' dial. This article delves into why this particular reference, with its steel case and unique dial, represents a compelling pivot for collectors seeking horological distinction beyond mainstream sports watches. His personal journey highlights the allure of Laurent Ferrier's craftsmanship and design philosophy.

Hi friends. As you may have seen with my more recent posts, I've been trying to move away from the more common sports watches and into some less ubiquitous independents and small brands. F.P. Journe was my start but with prices there skyrocketing, I started looking at what else is out there. Laurent Ferrier has always been on my radar considering the provenance of the brand and the founder himself. I recently came across this example which has a beautiful sunburst" salmon" dial. The watch is in steel which is interesting since the brand mostly sticks to precious metal watches. The movement is a marvel that you can read about online. It feels a lot more casual than other time-only watches from Patek, Vacheron, etc, which fits my lifestyle a bit better. I hope you enjoy it!

you could have requested a special order for a 39mm case. I did ask this once to the former MD, Vanessa Mostel so customisation was possible but at a price.
