His stunning photography highlights the metal's remarkable versatility, appearing almost like white gold under different lighting conditions. This piece not only celebrates a significant addition to his collection but also sparks a valuable community discussion on strap choices and lug hole longevity.

It goes fantastically well with your beautiful Lange 1!
Gotta say, the strap looks like an ostrich one I recently had made for an heirloom piece.
lighter grain color works beautifully. What are your other two?
I had a Delug strap on with a quick release and over a few months it seem to have grinded away at the lug hole. If yours is fine I would love to know, so I can rule out it being the quick release bars.
Almost all my watches (mix of platinum and WG) are mounted on Delugs straps with quick release. To be honest, I have not scrutinized the lug holes at a macro level, but I have not observed any issues over the years of usage. The worst possible scenario is if the lug holes are deteriorated to such an extent that the strap goes loose. I suspect we will be hearing a lot of this if that is prevalent, but I have not come across such cases.
From what I’ve read, since late 2000s, Lange lug holes reinforced with Titanium (or steel?) to prevent wear. I’ve noticed delugs has different versions of their QR spring bars; some have have a larger metal collar that may cause some metal damage around the lug holes, like in your pic? Bad pic attached for reference…
