ZSHSZ's firsthand account of the 2021 A. Lange & Söhne novelties offers a crucial glimpse into the luxury watch market's dynamics, particularly concerning brand allocation strategies and collector access. His experience, shared from the New York boutique, highlights the immediate sell-out phenomenon and the evolving landscape of acquiring highly coveted timepieces from top-tier manufacturers. This report provides valuable context for understanding the challenges and opportunities facing collectors in today's exclusive horological world.

I had an appointment today at the Lange Boutique in New York to see the new novelties!
To be honest the only one that I really liked is the new perpetual calendar with the solid gold dial, but as I’ve been told 80% are sold and you can’t buy it unless you’re a Boutique costumer otherwise you need to buy another piece north of $40K.
Well, that’s not something I do, but it seems that it works so good luck to the future owners!
The triple split is way to big and thick for my wrist but the movement is nice similar to the double split...
I also visited the Vacheron Boutique, and to my surprise I’ve been told that all the novelties are sold out for this year, including the split second chronograph!
I took a couple of cellphone pictures, hope they’re still enjoyable!
I must say the most impressive for me was the Vacheron tourbillon Perpétuelle!
A true masterpiece!
Best,

Zsolt.

Did the give you a figure on it even though it's no longer available? I'll bet required service alone would buy a really nice watch :-(

I was told all sold out, but maybe that is the allocation for US. 20% left but is for other continents.

I always take the sold out statements with a grain of salt, some of those pieces will take year or more to deliver. I believe there are deposits on the first batch, beyond that - who knows.

Yes the pink gold dialed Lange 1 PC is indeed more attractive than its grey dial led sibling. Much clearer too. The Triple Split is a mechanical marvel but I agree it’s too thick and unwieldy. On my wrist it almost felt wobbly thick (but to be fair I dunt have a large wrist). VC had some really nice pieces this year. I am totally smitten with the new VC overseas skeletonized ultra thin PC in white gold. Same with their new limited edition platinum split second. Both real beauties! Hope you get y

I love both versions of the Perpetual Calendar. Very curious about the blue dial Triple Split as well. I believe they make their way to the Costa Mesa boutique in a couple weeks.

At least you got into the NYC Lange boutique. Business must be good. In the past two months I’ve called and sent two emails to try to schedule an appointment, but apparently they have no inclination to respond.🤷‍♂️
