Friends,

Some of you might remember, that I often decide on Fri/Sat.what to wear on the WE and then for the next week.

When thinking it over a bit, also as we are going to theatre again, there should be at least one  "dressier" one, maybe one more a bitas an "Universal" and/or finally, something I haven't been wearing  too much lately.

So, by these criteria, this time it would fall on a Trio of White Ladies:

These all are white-dialled timepieces, with a classical touch, but still with a twist or a hidden feature, not immediately apparent or only known to the owner..
A special Trio for most occasions.Three White Ladies :

Three White Ladies : Left - E1901, Mid: Ref 6556, Rt - E329
 Left - JLC E1901, Mid: Rolex Ref 6556, Rt - JLC E329

The first is a classical 2- hands JLC: pure, almost austere but witha clean & elegant & very thin, low key appeal, ideal for a more elegant occasion, like our theatre visit.

The hidden feature here for the 1901, is the case material, being WG,thus more or less hidden to the occasional observer, but known only to the owner. - An indeed silent pleasure..

JLC 1901

WG 1901 - balanced elegance
E 1901 - balanced WG elegance from 60ies

The Second of this Trio now is a quite special Rolex, with very clean lines,no date ( Nico is happy..) & almost esoteric but modest. It's from the mid 50ies, and features a rather rare complication, which has berecently
re-born by JLC's Universal Time and True Second.

Hence, here comes this Rolex 6556 Tru Beat, white dial again, red central second, clean and pure lines, and now here the twist - offering a hacking second !

Thus also a dead beat or  " seconde morte" feature, a rather eclectic & characteristic, as many of us are more familiar now, because of JLC's recently issued finesse features on the new Geophysic Duo with the True Second modules.

- Again these clean & sober lines, yet with lots of balance & charm, are augmented by the little red accent of the second hand..

The third & last of the White Ladies to be chosen fromwill be again from my favorite brand, JLC.

It is again from the 60ies, a typical & classical layoutwith crosshair and a small subsecond @6.

The little twist here is the varying display on the date wheel, white on black for even days, black on white on the uneven.

- Little effect, but one, which for sure often canplease the owner's eye - at least for mine it does..

E 329 - Crosshair with a Date twist

E 329 - 2 Crosshairs with a Date: a twist for varying even/uneven dates

Furthermore, here again these 2 JLCs: left: Ref 1901 (Cal 818), rt:  Ref 329

Two charming JLC - timeless pleasures, IMHO

Finally find here once more,  this complete Threesome.

I therefore guess, I'll be pretty well equipped for this Sunday & the upcoming week...

Cheers & my very Best !

About the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Mariner Ref. E329

The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Mariner E329 is a notable vintage reference from the late 1950s, often associated with the brand's 125th Anniversary (Jubilé) collection due to its contemporary release and shared design language. It represents a period when Jaeger-LeCoultre was expanding its robust and water-resistant timepieces, offering a blend of elegant design and practical functionality.

This model typically features a self-winding movement, often the Caliber K880 or K881, known for its reliability. The case is commonly stainless steel, with a diameter around 34-36mm, and often presents a distinctive C-shape profile. Dials are frequently white or silver, with applied hour markers and a date aperture, protected by a plexiglass crystal.

The E329 holds relevance for collectors seeking well-preserved examples of mid-century Jaeger-LeCoultre watches that combine a classic aesthetic with a robust movement. Its connection to the Jubilé era and its relatively consistent availability, albeit often with condition issues, make it a persistent pursuit for those looking for original, unmolested pieces.

Did you try to compare the Tru Beat with the True Second? Best, Nicolas.

As I don\'t have a True Second only, I would have to,persuade the JLC Boutique here, to lend me the TS. Alternatives would be 1/ to do it in the watch store; 2/ just taking my WT, which also has the True Second module. The latter would be quite trivial - Guess, I will try that this week !! Results then, ida & Pat. Pend by Nico, procedure by hs.. Will keep you posted !! Best, hs
