JLC collector jrwong23 (aka watchthebin) shares his excitement over acquiring the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Duo Bleu, a boutique special edition he had long pursued. This post captures the thrill of the hunt and the joy of adding a coveted piece to a growing collection of JLC special editions, offering a glimpse into a collector's passion and persistence.

Dear all

I collected my last watch of 2014 today. My lovely Reverso Duo Bleu, boutique special edition!
My 3rd JLC and 2nd Reverso smile
Coincidentally all my 3 JLCs are boutique special editions smile

Very happy man today. When I decided to get my TT 1948 back in Jul, I was hoping to get the Reverso Duo Bleu but was told it was no longer available in the JLC Boutiques. "Sold out and no longer in production" was the official answer I got.
Still, I didn't give up. PuristS don't give up eh? The hunt continued. Really tough though. This guy doesn't appear for sale easily! smile

JLC Singapore knows I like this watch and love the blue dial. To their credit.... they recently managed to get a brand new piece for me! I was told it's the LAST piece! (not sure how true but that's what they told me anyway). Doesn't matter, I got what I want and JUST in time for Christmas! biggrin

Some pics to share on my collection story today.

Cheers
robin

Early morning getting ready for work. Decided to wear my Reverso TT 1948 to collect it's brother today smile

Arrived at JLC boutique... waiting for the Bleu to appear and enjoying a coffee meanwhile.... the 1948 is eager to meet his bro!

More delays.... JLC kept the Bleu in a super safe?? Meanwhile, some snacks....

The box arrived!

The Bleu is here!

Reverso brothers reunited!

On the wrist! The blue lacquered dial is so pretty!

The dual time reverse side. The white guilloche is pretty impressive too. I think I prefer the blue lacquered dial slightly but hey, this dial makes the watch a lot more serious - good for business meetings if the blue is a bit "too fun"

Both Special Editions from JLC Boutique.

Wait... there is a last JLC boutique special edition Reverso... which I almost got before I decided on the MUT Perpetual special edition instead...
The Reverso Rouge! Put the 3 together and you get the French colors!

Should I get the Rouge too? I like it but am afraid it's too loud?

Well Robin you did a nice new move in 2014, it is a very original dial color and must look fantastic in the real. Congratulations and thanks for sharing the experience :) Cheers, Mark

I'm not so keen on square or rectangular shaped watches, but these reversos really look good on your wrist!

Get this Red! :) Then, take a long breath, and let's study the Duometre league... Huge congratulations, Robin my friend. The Blue, is like the two others, a superb Reverso, but this is the only one to enjoy a friendly complication. Best, NicoVlad.

I really hope JLC brings this one back. Between the time I learned about it and the next chance I had to visit a boutique, it had disappeared. As far as the red, it's in no way loud. Just very, very charming.

I am aware how much you loved this piece, and how happy you are to get it. And understandably so, it's an astounding piece. Enjoy it and wear it in the best of health!

My iPhone photos don't do the blue dial justice. Will try again with better lighting soon ;) Cheers Robin
