Nicolas (amanico) revisits the Jaeger-LeCoultre Amvox 7, a collaboration with Aston Martin, to explore its design evolution from the Amvox 2. His post delves into the unique features of the Amvox 7, particularly its innovative double radial power reserve, and prompts a discussion on its place within the Amvox lineage and the broader JLC sports watch catalog.

Introduced in the catalog in 2012, unveiled a bit later in the year, this is an Amvox we didn't discuss very often.

Compared to the Amvox 2, you have many common points, such as the titanium case ( 44 mm ) and the concept: A pivoting case which allows to use the chronograph functions without pushers.

So, yes, this is a short way to say that the Amvox 7 is a re designed 2, with a new dial, inspired from the Aston Martin Vanquish front grill,  and a crown which is re shaped, too.

Now, the big difference with the 2 is that the 7 offers a " double radial " power reserve. Totally wound, the 2 parts of the power reserve are becoming totally red, and go near 12 o' clock.

A video of the watch:

The radial power reserve is something we saw as soon as 2009, with the Extreme Lab 2, but the double power reserve is hitherto unseen.

ÃŽt is a pretty cool looking watch, but I was expecting a superlative Amvox II, with a double pivoting case, to tell you the truth.

Top / Bottom for the Chronograph, Left / Right for another complication, such as a GMT, for example. Push on the left, you go GMT +1, push on the right, and you go GMT -1.

That was the Amvox 2 I was waiting for... But now, this will never happen, since the collaboration between Aston Martin and JLC is over...

What do you think of this Amvox 7?

Best,

Nicolas

About the Jaeger LeCoultre Amvox2 Ref. AMVOX2

The Amvox2 represents Jaeger LeCoultre's approach to contemporary sports timing, offered here in the Steel Black series configuration. This 44mm reference positions itself as a substantial automatic chronograph within the Amvox2 collection, distinguished by its monochromatic steel and black dial treatment.

The 44mm steel case houses an automatic movement and features a black dial beneath sapphire crystal protection. Water resistance extends to 100 meters, while a fixed bezel completes the case architecture. The steel construction and automatic movement provide the mechanical foundation for this chronograph reference.

This Steel Black series Amvox2 appeals to collectors seeking a modern Jaeger LeCoultre sports chronograph with substantial wrist presence. The 44mm case diameter and black dial configuration offer a contemporary alternative within the Amvox2 range, providing automatic chronograph functionality in a steel sports watch format. The combination of size, materials, and dial treatment positions this reference for collectors focused on modern Jaeger LeCoultre sports complications.

Either the watch is huge or the car is small.

Think positively: JLC is much cheaper to service and it runs with a piece of bread. [nt]
