His post captures the anticipation and meticulous packaging, offering readers a glimpse into the acquisition of a unique independent watch. This piece highlights the personal journey of collecting and the joy of a new arrival.
A happy day yesterday, with the arrival of a new piece from Austria via San Diego...
As usual, the first step is to assemble the ceremonial watch opening rug and William Henry box opener:

It's finally time! At the critical juncture, all vestiges of photographic technique abandoned me, so all I have in forcus is this fairly harsh flash photo -- oh well...

Credit to Laikingland and the M.A.D. gallery for this one...
A few shots from the light tent coming in a separate post! In the meantime, many thanks to Richard for working over the weekend to finish this piece and to Tim for getting it to me in time for last night's GTG with PuristS friends.
Best,
Gary G
CONGRATULATIONS! You just patronised (is that the correct term?) one of the most exciting watches (and makers) currently. I hope ( and I am sure) you'll enjoy that watch very much! Cheers, Magnus
great taste! Grey would have been my choice ... Picture taken by THE master itself Oliver
... is priceless Gary! Habring and Fingers! Congrats on the arrival of the Doppel 2.0!
How I long to see those words again ... Actually, I was really intrigued when I saw that internal packing for the first time. Even kept the packing for a week or two to see if I could use it for something else. Congratulations. Its a beautiful watch. Regards, Richard.
I see you've also fallen victim to Monsieur Busser's M.A.D. Gallery. As I told Max recently, I took a look and ended up buying a few of the Bohm Stirling engines. Regards, Richard.
I love this new model and great to see some in flesh shots, its a really great pickup and I am sure will bring you many hours of happiness on your wrist. Enjoy, Andrew
