At Dubai Watch Week, there were over sixty brands that attended and had booths for the public to walk into.  Audemars Piguet had one of the best booths at Dubai Watch Week.  I will examine the top few booths - Audemars Piguet being the first one.  This is the booth that has the greatest number of watches - kudos to AP for transporting me from Dubai to Le Brassus and back to Dubai - I knew AP could make wonderful watches - but I didn't know they made time-space-warp travel devices!  Well...  We're on the way to the Audemars Piguet Airport  Teleport!

The Exterior of the Audemars Piguet Booth.  There's always a large queue outside of the booth every afternoon till around 21:00h at night!  The booth closes at 22:00h.  A lot of people want to experience their first teleport!

The Main Entrance of Dubai Watch Week is framed by THE GATE which is the center of the DIFC district.

The driveway - populated with a steady stream of cars - Dubai Watch Week is a very popular event and thousands of cars drive through here daily.

Here we go inside the Audemars Piguet booth - after a long queue of course - the Audemars Piguet booth is the busiest booth and has the longest queue. We've finally boarded the teleportation-craft and we've landed in Le Brassus.  The young owner of this jeweled watch came earlier in the day and fortunately only had to queue for a short period since he came so early - he especially likes his jeweled Royal Oak because it’s scratch resistant and he can wear this watch without fear in Dubai - one of the world's safest cities.

Jewels can turn a haute horlogerie timepiece into a haute joaillerie timepiece too!

More jewels of varying sizes...

A colorfest!

The Middle East region does like jeweled timepieces.

One Sheikh supposedly owns a small collection of Mercedes vehicles - in the colors of the rainbow.

If you really like Skittles - a colorful candy - you will probably like these colorful timepieces.

Purple is the hot color right now! Violet!

It’s amazing that Audemars Piguet brought so many pieces.

AP wanted to bring the AP Museum to Dubai.

They couldn’t transplant the museum building as its foundation was solidly built into Le Brassus.

But when Mohammed won’t go to the Mountain, the Mountain must go to Mohammed.

AP instead brought many of the watches in the Museum to Dubai - here are some more pieces...

Look at this!

What a beautiful dial!

More jeweled timepieces.

This trio of timepieces has what caliber? Most PuristSPro/WatchProSite readers should know this...

This trio has the JLC 101 caliber! One of the smallest mechanical watch calibers in the world!

Today's Concept!

In 1986/7 AP reintroduced the Tourbillon in a wristwatch - this was the watch!

I don't like "two toned" watches usually, but I would make an exception for this one.

Original Concept!  Or "Yesterday's Concept."  Glad that AP stuck to this Concept line - twenty years!

AP tested if I could assemble these three pieces and make a case.

I said of course I can and I proceeded to do so. As you can see I did it. But I was not offered a job because I had touched two pieces of gold together which increases the risk of creating a scratch - it’s not that easy!

A big Star Wheel! MichaelC would like this!

Goodness gracious!

Oh my goodness again!

Looks deceptively simple doesn’t it?

This watch was HUGE and HEAVY! Buying this watch would save me money as it would mean I wouldn’t need a gym membership!  So I told the team at AP that I would buy it if it made me healthy and fit - AP says they're going to consult their in-house doctor and get back to me.

More pieces from AP’s history!  Minute repeaters and chiming timepieces were a specialty at AP.

People forget, but AP has the richest history in minute repeaters among all the major Swiss brands.

AP had one of the best booths at Dubai Watch Week. Just an amazing experience - as someone who has been to Le Brassus in the past year but did not have the time to see the museum sadly, this was a great preview - now I want to see the museum even more!

AP did transport me back to Dubai safely.  I can say my first time in a Tele-Port-Craft was painless.  Many thanks to Audemars Piguet for the amazing experience!

And many thanks to the Seddiqi Group for the wonderful Dubai Watch Week event that they put on FOR CONSUMERS!  This is the FINEST WATCH SHOW ON THE PLANET and it's not a trade show for jewelry store buyers - it's for CONSUMERS!  Just wow!  In perfectly safe Dubai!  What an event!

Great report, Patrick. SO glad you were able to see such AP treasures!

When I visited Le Brassus in June, I was able to see the large Starwheel display. Yes, I want one! I specifically asked to see the watch at the time, but they could not accommodate the request in the time we had. It was shortly after we returned home that my Boutique called to offer me the Starwheel wristwatch. I had been on "the list" since the launch, but the brand wanted to "complete my visit to AP" by offering the timepiece. Really incredible and humbling, to be honest. I shared in my origin

Thank you MichaelC for your kind words!

Once I saw that StarWheel model - I immediately thought of you! What a cool cool cool piece of kit! Thank you for your kind words - the real credit really goes to the Seddiqi Group and to Audemars Piguet for flying all of this out to Dubai! So happy that you got the Star Wheel that you adore - it's a great piece and it's a killer on your wrist! Killer piece!
