Nicolas (amanico) shares his enduring fascination with the vintage Breguet Type XX, presenting a specific example that, while not his personal favorite, clearly captivates. His post invites readers to appreciate the unique charm of these historical pilot's chronographs, setting the stage for a community discussion on their aesthetic and collectibility.

The patina these older vintage watches gain with age turns a great watch into a stunning watch, they way this dial appears to have turned chocolate brown with the beautiful carmel hours markers and hands just can't be replicated by anything but time. I doubt modern watches even over time will ever replicate this type of patina which I think is a shame although there is an argument to be made that staying minty fresh over time is also a good thing. i hope one day soon your perfect vintage \type X
Keeping fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻
Time to scratch that itch!
From so many comments, I notice that I am not the only person who loves the look of the XX. It's iconic (and no date!!) I am seriously thinking about getting another one. (The one I had wasn't in good shape, so I thought it best to let it go when I had the chance.) Now, I will look again, after seeing this one.
I try keep a running list, in order, of 2 - 3 pieces I would consider selling if I needed the funds for a new watch. It is difficult.
