In this insightful post, holdemchamp1225 shares his firsthand experience trying on the new Breguet La Tradition models at the Cannes boutique. His detailed observations on how lug design impacts wearability, particularly for smaller wrists, offer valuable considerations for collectors evaluating watches beyond just their stated diameter. This exploration highlights the importance of trying on timepieces to truly understand their fit and presence.

for his wonderful design. Should be having a black strap and then a great masculine attire IMHO
I also suppose you do not like the PP 5170P ;-)
If you wear it above the wrist bone 40 mm looks too large. Below the wrist bone may give it a more snug fit.
The baguette diamond markers are actually a lot more subtle than the diamond bezel on the Breguet ladies La Tradition. I do really like the 5170P but choose the 5070P 100 / 100 times without hesitation, one factor being the lack of diamonds ๐คทโโ๏ธ๐๐ (even a Corne de Vache ou Malte Chrono which I have)
I would require a shorter strap as I was already on the last hole and still needed a bit smaller on the 40mm with strap. Again, I don't think it has anything to do with the diameter of the watch itself, more about the straight lugs and how they extend. If they were slightly curved, they would hug the wrist better, especially for smaller wrists. I wear much larger watches which fit better than this 40mm La Tradition due to the shape and length of the lugs. My JLC Extreme Lab 2 is 46.8mm and wears
I have made many mistakes in the past with purchases without seeing how a watch fits on my wrist. Ever since, I have forced myself to try them on, even if I have to remain patient and find one if it is a rare model, before pulling the trigger. This has worked much better to say the least ๐
