Tradition Limited Edition Wristwatch

Demonstrating the artistry, mastery and know-how of watchmaking

Founded 137 years ago, Audemars Piguet is focused on producing only high-end movements and timepieces. Its brand values are in strong synergy with the partnership of the Hong Kong Jockey Club for the sponsorship of the AP QEII Cup race since 1999. The same values of exclusivity, passion and respect are represented in this race, being the highlight of the year for the equestrian circle, with its long standing history and at the same time constantly attracting the best jockeys, horses and trainers.

Inspired by a historic 1923 cushion-shaped pocket watch, the Audemars Piguet Queen Elizabeth II Cup 2012 wristwatch carries the distinctive cushion-shaped case. The 18-carat pink gold case together with the white lacquered dial and pink gold applied Arabic numerals and hands, give an elegant and clean look to the dial.

The Queen Elizabeth II Cup was established in 1975 to commemorate a visit to Hong Kong by Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip. The race continued to run annually in the spring and evolved to an international event in 1995, with Hong Kong horses competing against those from all over the world. Renowned Swiss watchmaker, Audemars Piguet, continuously sponsored this prestigious international race since 1999 making its partnership synonymous with one of the most important competitions enthralling racing enthusiasts in the horse-racing world.

In honour of the sponsorship of the QEII Cup, Audemars Piguet will host a gala party in partnership with the Hong Kong Jockey Club on Friday, April 27, 2012 which will then be followed by the much awaited for, QEII Cup race that will take place on Sunday, April 29, 2012 at the Shatin Racecourse.

That is a gorgeous piece.

Very clean and elegant. And how cool is that rotor? Much better design than screening the event name on the rear glass.
