MichaelC's original post, featuring a classic Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, sparked a vibrant discussion among collectors about the balance between preserving iconic design and embracing modern horological advancements. As Audemars Piguet approached its 50th anniversary, the community debated potential updates to the Royal Oak, particularly concerning its movement and materials, while emphasizing the importance of maintaining its timeless aesthetic and original proportions. MichaelC's initial query about the perfection of existing models served as a catalyst for a deep dive into the nuances that define this horological icon.

Releases will be throughout 2022

While I look forward to the 2022 models, I have to say, this model is already so perfect that I can't imagine the 2022 models being any better...
Could it possibly become 40mm? Might there be a model with numerals on the dial? Probably not, but soon we shall see.
It’s perfect the way it is (especially after you get the AP tool that helps in the winding and date setting processes).
