This is one of the most collectible watch from AP and will distinguish you from all the other models that AP makes in the hundreds of thousands each year.
Limited Edition of 300!
This if the first collection of City of Sails was in the year 2000 to commemorate the America's Cup race. Subsequent 2004 and 2008 races have had their limited editions, but they had runs of 1000 of each variation and started to make variations (i.e. standard model had a 1000 and then in various metals of White Gold, Yellow Gold, Platinum and then different complications) so you ended up with thousands of "limited editions" for 2004 and 2008 respectively. Still these watches continued to appreciate.
If you want to wear a special AP that no one else has, this is one of the few affordable collector's pieces. Other collector pieces for AP run in the $50K+ range.
