FS: Officine Panerai 201/A NM
Released in 1993, Officine Panerai Firenze introduced the 201/A Logo, a
revolutionary watch that was the largest round watch in production. The
early brass dial was originally varnished, which interacted with the
tritium numerals too fast, causing an orange tint. This contrasted with
the lightly green tritium hands, thus the non-matching nickname. Of
the 677 201/A’s released, it is estimated no more than 30 of these NM
dials were produced before OP changed the coating material, making this
version of the Logo extremely rare.
Dial: Non-matching in perfect condition.
Case: SS 316L with a polish finish, in very good condition for the age
and original use. The water resistance is 30 ATM (300 Meters). This
was a tool watch after all and there are light scratches at the lug
screws holes. It is my understanding this watch has never been
polished.
Movement: Unitas 6497, 17 Jewels, reworked and refinished by Panerai. roots!
Caseback: Screwed on.
Accessories: Mahogany box, brass screwdriver, a set of screws and tubes,
2 straps, a 144 / 84 mm in natural leather, treated to resist to salt
water in 100% condition, and a khaki shark one ( 128 / 80mm ) in 80%
condition, the Libretto and service booklet, hang tag and case
protector. Also included are an original boutique blue shopping bag,
original Pre-V sales catalog and card, all in excellent condition. The
David Lane strap in the photos is also included. There is NO outer blue
box.
