Interesting & Innovative Pieces for the Ladies - Animal World Collection
Animal World
Collection

In celebrating its 150th
anniversary, Chopard is remaining loyal to its reputation for creativity
by introducing a Haute Joaillerie collection on the theme of animals – a
universe barely yet explored by the company. The result is a fabulous
bestiary imbued with fanciful fairytale creatures. This anniversary
edition comprises of 15 watches, featuring an original design and
testifying to Chopard's legendary inventiveness and expertise, in the
twin fields of fine jewellery and watch making.
The timepieces in the Haute Joaillerie Animal
World Collection are creative gems humorously illustrating a variety of
animals that are not often featured in the realm of Haute Joaillerie.
Exotic species such as monkeys, polar bears and penguins are portrayed
in vividly depicted scenes.

An irresistibly mischievous mango-stealing
macaque monkey appears to be actually moving as he hangs from a creeper,
preparing to pounce on other fruits – this scene cleverly represented
by moving brilliants. The amazingly realistic and endearingly cheeky
attitude of the primate caught red-handed had been patiently studied and
then transcribed by a sculptor. The diamond-set rose gold bezel creates
a stunning contrast amidst the luxurious greenery of the jungle
adorning the iridescent mother-of-pearl dial. Meanwhile, the
bronze-tinted strap adds the perfect final touch of sophistication and
character.

After the warmth of the tropical forest, Chopard
sweeps us off to the vast cool reaches of the ice floe, with a polar
bear playing on its frozen dial. Three moving diamonds symbolise the
crystalline sparkle of ice in the sunshine. The gold crown is paved with
brilliants reminiscent of frost flakes. This elegant and luminous
watch fitted with a light grey strap, is a perfect way of enlivening a
cashmere sweater or freshening up a summer dress in a heat wave!

The same fanciful touch and the synonymous concern for realism
pervades the timepiece featuring Antarctic penguins. Probably awaiting
their turn to go hunting, each of the web-footed creatures adorning the
mother-of-pearl dial is shown in a different stance, once again creating
the impression of a live-action scene. A sprinkling of moving diamonds
lends extra radiance to the spectacle, as do the diamonds adorning the
bezel of this resolutely modern creation that is sure to appeal to
devotees of graphic compositions.
