Singapore, 14 July 2010 - Chopard celebrated its 150th Anniversary
and showcased its stunning Animal World Collection with a grand dinner
at the new hotel, The Fullerton Bay Hotel to 150 guests. Gracing the
evening was Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele, Co-President of Chopard who
specially flew in for the gala event and the opening
of the Marina Bay Sand Boutique .
Guests were fortunate to see 60 out of the 150 unique pieces
of the Animal World Collection, a rare occurrence of so many pieces to
be gathered at one place, as some of the pieces are either in various
locations or being sold.

The Fullerton Bay Hotel, the first
waterfront hotel in Singapore, was just open last week. Situated at
the historic Clifford Pier, a landing point for many of Singapore’s
early settlers.

Next was Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele, Co-President of Chopard.
She
gave a brief introduction of the Animal World Collection and also
mentioned about a corporate social responsibility which Chopard will be
supporting the WWF’s Tiger Initiative prevent the potential of tiger
extinction and to double the number of tigers in the wild by 2022, the
next Year of the Tiger.

After which a short speech by Michael
Baltzer, Leader of Tiger Network Initiative in Singapore thanking
Chopard for supporting the initiative.
According to him, as of this
year, the tiger population is estimated to be about 3200 and if no
intervention is done, tiger will face extinction soon.
The initiative
is ambitious, and not just preserving the existing tiger population but
aim to double the population by the year 2022, the next cycle of year
of the Tiger (according to the Chinese Zodiac).
Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele looked definitely very
pleased supporting the
initiative, as she is known to be fond of animals.
