Upon the death of his wife my older brother returned from a long sojourn in Germany to the US to live with us. He brought a Chopard watch which he had purchased for his wife in approximately 1965. The watch is 18k white gold (case and band) with a lapis lazuli oval face surrounded by 37 diamonds. The only identification on the face is L U Chopard Geneve. On the back of the case are the numbers 18492 5026 1. Inside the case is a boxed LUC over L U Chopard & CIE Geneve which in turn is over a boxed 18k/0.750. The mechanical movement has no part number or serial number it is just engraved with L U Chopard & CIE / Geneve and Swiss / 17 Jewels. My wife who has been the recipient of this watch feels that it is valuable enough to be insured. The local jeweler was unable
to determine a value. In fact, could not find any information about the watch. Does anyone have a suggestion?
