Chopard 8HF: A New Age of Timekeeping?

 By: ant : March 1st, 2013-03:27
I became a Chopard enthusiast about 10 years ago. I was in Singapore and saw an advert for the upcoming Steel Wings skeleton tourbillon. I was astonished by the cutting edge visual design. So smitten that I ordered one of the limited edition of 5 pieces. ...

Very nice!

Very nice! I have a question about the 3 week/4 sec accuracy. For the 3 weeks, how often was it worn? Daily? Also, Do indulge us with a few 'On the wrist' shots...if you can.. Merv

for its orginial shape and unusual technical features. I'm not a Chopard guy, even if the L.U.C. familly seems very well finished and designed. But I still remember when this 8Hz was presented, I was really curious to learn more about this watch. I would ...

KFS has the heart of an indie.

 By: ant : March 3rd, 2013-21:12
I agree that the 8HF could be the work of an indie, perhaps that's what appealed to me. I believe that KFS studied Art at university. When I met him I was certain that he was a really creative guy who would always try to give his products an 'edge'. No co...

Great post my dear ant..

All your passion for your new addition perspires in every word. A watch to acknowledge and to appreciate for sure, its performance is quite something. I must say its look is very captivating too. Luc watches are too underrated if you ask me,I think the ove...

It keeps accurate time.

I would prefer the dial without the date window. Regards Ling

Superb addition, Ant!

Really cool watch that highlights ChopardĀ“s commitment to chronometry and excellence. Needless to say, the fact that you have a friendship with Mr. KFS makes this watch even more special and personal. Enjoy it profoundly, and please share more pictures or...

Super technical

Hey Ant, Nice one. I've been eyeing it as well. Glad it lived up to your expectations. Op

Technical it is....

Thanks for your replies. When the daylight returns (remember I'm in UK) I will take some more pics. It is a fascinating design. The combination of a hi-tech mechanism and a post modern design (that doesn't look like Apple ) but which is still refined is v...

Agree

 By: optionc : March 15th, 2013-07:18
Hey Antony, Agree on all your points but I think the issue is the lack of an iconic design. Granted it is far easier said than done. But chopard doesn't have a royal oak, calatrava, patrimony, santos, reverso, , that is entirely associated with the brand....

You are so right

 By: ant : March 15th, 2013-10:53
Hi Phillip, I think that you have put your finger on what is missing from Chopard. They have made so many beautiful designs (with fab mechs, cases, dials and hands) but somehow there isn't a Chopard 'look' or clear Chopard design identity. I am going on a...

What i think.

To most people, Chopard = Happy Diamonds / Happy Sport series of quartz watches. I am sure this line provides healthy business for Chopard, But this overshadows the better 'horological' things that Chopard does, and deserves more credit for.

no special box

 By: p.boxster : July 8th, 2013-14:00
Unfortunately there is no special box for the 8HF. I got mine with the brown wooden L.U.C Box, too, same as XP Skeletec. The box is nice, but doesn't fit at all to the 8 HF. The boutique told me that there are many complaints so that there might come a sp...

this is really disappointing from Chopard. I hope they make it up to us.
