The "Breguet Tradition" timepiece wins two distinguished awards
Lausanne, November 2, 2005 - The Breguet Tradition watch (ref. 7027) presented at the 2005 Basel Watch Show was recently voted "Watch of the Year 2005" by a jury of industry professionals from the Montres Passion and Uhrenwelt trade publications. This design also appealed to the general public (who ranked it third in the "Prize of the Public" category) in recognition of its truly unique set of technical features and design qualities and its impeccable finish, not to mention the striking originality of such an easy-to-wear timepiece.
On November 11 in Geneva, this same Breguet Tradition design won the Jury's Prize of the Grand Prix de l'Horlogerie de Gen?ve. Montres Breguet takes pride in the two awards earned by its Breguet Tradition model, designed in its workshops and featuring a new and revolutionary movement visible on both sides of the mainplate.
The first entry in a new Breguet model line, this outstanding timepiece weds to perfection avant-garde and traditional aspects of watchmaking. Stemming in large part from its shot-blasted finishing process, whose uniform application demands both unusual skill and extreme technical expertise, the piece's contemporary good looks contribute to a visual harmony that owes much to symmetrical bridges recalling the souscription watch movements. The unusual design and exceptional technical mastery distinguishing this elegant achievement signal a new creative direction for the inventive drive of a watch house with an identity and a past as distinguished as Breguet's.
