I recently bought a Marine 3400SA/12/196. The watch is new although it is not produced anymore. I really enjoy it, it is sophisticated but remains discrete. As the retailer said: " it is kind of less 'obvious' than the Rolex submariner" (that I was wearing that day). Well obviously, the two watches have different styles and uses.
I was told this Marine has a Jaeger-Lecoultre caliber. Could someone tell the precise caliber? the Breguet's reference? (I understood from some internet search that Breguet also has an 'internal' reference for 'external' calibers)
My marine number is 3-digit. I anyway guess there were more than 1000 watches produced. Does someone know the total production of the 3400 (SA and others series)?
One last question. I do not wear the watch every day. I am considering to then keep it in a box that has a (permanent electric) rotating mechanism. However I'm afraid this permanent 'work' might not be that good for the caliber?
Sincere thanks for your answers.
