Hello to all,
I like very much BP timepieces and have owned 3 different specimens, however something that has always bothered me is the fact that BP "protects" the sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on the outside.
This issue is fine when the watch is new but after wearing the watch with very careful attention, I always seemed to fine tiny hairline scratches on this AR coating on the outside. This bothered me very much to the point that I don't own anymore any BP.
The question is if BP puts this coating on all their products or just their sports models?
I like very much the new 40mm Villeret automatic but this issue is a problem to me.
Also, has anyone tried to remove this coating?
On my last BP purchase the authorized dealer agreed to remove the AR coating prior to delivering the watch to me and worked just fine. However, I am not sure if I can find the watch that I am looking for at the price that I want from an authorized dealer. (not looking to start any authorized/non-authorized dealer debate, please).
Thanks very much,
Rafael.
