The Beauty of AP..
Apr 14, 2021,11:58 AM
I really believe that the beauty of Audemars Piguet is that they do not take themselves to seriously, while unfortunately their fans do. This constantly leads to immense amounts of criticism about releases that the fans don't feel are the right direction for the brand (even I am guilty of it). I have come to appreciate the brand for this and commend them on their "bravery" to step out of the box every once in a while no matter what the fans think. At the end of the day they will release some watches that the community universally loves and some watches that the community hates. There are diehard RO fans that HATE the ROO and vice versa! We should all appreciate the fact that AP has the freedom to make watches for all different segments of the collecting community instead of caving to a single collective idea of what the fans think the brand should be.

There’s been a lot of criticism of AP around here recently. One watch and collaboration, though, do not define a brand. AP fans, this thread is an opportunity to share some watch pics and thoughts on what they like and even love ❤️ about this great brand....

No more carbon APs as was officially said by FHB and Michael Friedman during the live chat they had recently, the last Concept special edition was the final one.
Why no more carbon?

Did they offer a rationale as to why they’ve definitively stopped using forged carbon? I know some of their early carbon pieces had fraying issues, but I gather the later iterations were robust in their carbon construction.
