After contemplating the same two pieces, I went with the Trulli . . .

IMHO, and as others have stated, the Trulli is one of the best ROOs ever produced.  It is a wonderful combination of two great materials: carbon and ceramic.  Likewise, the color combination is complex and engaging, yet understated and muted.  I also much prefer the 42 mm case size and shape, as compared to the 44mm case -- it wears much smaller (and the 42mm already wears very big for its size).  Lastly, the Trulli is limited to 500 pieces, whereas the carbon is an unlimited run.

I had AP make a custom black hornback strap with grey stitching that complements the watch wonderfully.  You could also do red stitching -- that would be more striking, but I wanted to maintain the understated quality of the watch.

Looking for objective thoughts

Considering 44mm Royal Oak Offshore in forge carbon, the ROO Jarno Trulli, or the ROO Sbastien Buemi. Photo attached side by side of Trulli and 44 Carbon. Tough call at any price point. Looking for some additional input. Appreciated....

i like the new 44mm carbon ap more then the other ones. because of the size and how it wears on the wrist with the light weight.

Very little separate the two

It's really down to personal preference really. I personally like the Trulli more.... Best, Horo

As Horo said it's personal preference....

Well, there you go, 3 replies and 3 different answers.

These questions always come down to personal preference. My choice is definitely the Jarno Trulli. It is one of my favorite LE Offshores and continues to fly under the radar. Cermet is astounding in person.

I agree w/ what Nautilus states below...

The perhaps now "older" standard case works a bit better for me than the newer one. So, we take the more traditional Offshore and case it in carbon, then apply ultra refined details such as the cermet bezel and exquisitely finished dial. I see it as perha...

I would buy the Trulli

I prefer the slightly smaller size and the taper of the case and strap of the older style roos and am not so keen on all black watches on me. I also think that the Trulli is one of the best looking roos. I do also like the Buemi, but the fact that he wasn...

Trulli

I had the same dilemma you had before and I went with the Trulli bacause the use choice of materials (cermet bezel, titanium pushers, carbon case) mixed with subtle differences of the standard 42mm ROO (tab indices on dial, display case back, flat pushers...

It is all about which one

you cannot take your eyes off of while on your wrist and just feels right on your wrist. Both are great choices. JerryW

helps keep one interested in the piece longer, and makes one be more enamored with the watch! I would go with the Trulli to back what Craig says. Keep us posted!

u made the right choice :)

dial: the trulli has a faaar more interesting dial, with the 3 dimensional center tapisserie and multi levels. the 44mm carbon is just black and flat bezel: luxurious sheen of Cermet, with better finish VS plastic looking ceramic caseback: a draw. the 44m...

My top three 'must-get' APs are the following: All Black Forged Carbon, Trulli, and the Legacy!

Hmmm

Well I can see that I am massively out voted on this one, but I stick my hand up for the new carbon, I just struggle so much wo get on with the old style chrono pushers, to me the new AP synergy with the chrono pushers & winder is a fantastic improvem...
