I purchased new just never got around to removing the protective cover till now. Going to email them and see if they can help. You never know...

Purchased a navy Offshore and left the film on for a few months while wearing the watch. When I eventually removed the film it was slightly pitted. Almost as though a tiny piece of grit had got under the film. Took it to the AP service centre in London an... 

I hope you are not referring to those big marks as they sure look like hallmarks to me...

My platinum 44 has the same marks in exactly the same place - they are hallmarks.

And it appears that you too own a platinum 44. I'm no detective but I think the mystery is solved. They're hallmarks.

I see one one side the plat 950 mark but on the other side are the marks - what is a hallmark? Can someone else post a pict of their plat case back - cheers
