I previously owned a Sax-O-Mat and I am fully agree with you about its rotor. It is a so different one that I think it is a "mistake" from Lange to not use it anymore.
Could it be too expensive to make compared to this new rotor? I cannot think it could be a such explanation. May you have another one more relevant?

How is this brown dial different
from the Saxonia boutique edition pink and white gold launched in watches and wonders Hong Kong in Sep 2015? I understand one is manual and one is automatic - is there a difference in the dial color though ? Thanks for the lovely review and pics Fx Cheers...
I too miss....
.... the Sax-O-Mat movement in the Saxonia. Pleasing as this boutique edition may be, but the new (and more affordable) 37mm is much more enticing.
