The three quarter rotor has a charm that the center rotor doesn't have
I can only assume that Lange is switching to a center rotor because it is more efficient at winding the movement (larger rotor=greater moment of inertia)? I suppose the other 'upside' with the center rotor is that you seem to get a bit more 22k gold and platinum, but in my view that is not worth the decrease in uniqueness and beauty. After all, we don't buy these things for the scrap value
