Several Lange Auction Results...
I thought this might interest folks
-- remembered that several Langes were due to be auctioned recently, so I
just looked up the results:
(1) A stainless steel Lange 1 ref. 101.026 sold for CHF 147,750
($154,911 USD). That is total price, including buyer's premium. This was
through Christie's, Lot 105, May 13, Geneva. Lot description is as
follows:
"A. Lange & Söhne. A highly limited and very attractive stainless
steel twin-barrel wristwatch with oversized date and power reserve
Signed A. Lange & Söhne, Glashütte I/SA, Lange 1 model,
Doppelfederhaus, ref. 101.026, movement no. 1014, case no. 114'404,
circa 1997
Cal. L901.0 three quarter plate mechanical movement with two spring
barrels, 53 jewels, screwed gold chatons, finely hand-engraved balance
bridge, swan neck regulator, silver matte dial, off-centered
engine-turned hour dial with lozenge-shaped and Roman numerals, large
double window for date, fan-shaped sector for power reserve indication,
engine-turned subsidiary seconds, circular case, glazed display back
secured by six screws, stainless steel A. Lange & Söhne buckle,
case, dial and movement signed
38.5 mm. diam."
(2) A rose gold 1815 Moonphase ref. 231.031 sold for CHF 37,500
($38,858 USD). That is total price, including buyer's premium. This was
through Antiquorum, Lot 173, May 12, Geneva. Lot description is as
follows:
"EMIL LANGE 1815 MOON PHASE A.Lange & Söhne, Glashütte i/SA,
'1815 - Emil Lange - Moon Phase', No. 4/250, case No. 124004, Ref.
231.031. Made in a limited edition of 250 pieces in 2000, sold on April
7th, 2000. Very fine and rare, astronomic, water-resistant, 18K pink
gold wristwatch with moon phases and an 18K pink gold Lange buckle.
Accompanied by a Lange & Söhne fitted box, Certificate, instruction
manual, hang-tags, push-pin and service documents."
(3) A rose gold 1815 Moonphase ref. 231.031 sold for CHF 36,250
($37,563 USD). That is total price, including buyer's premium. This was
through Antiquorum, Lot 205, May 12, Geneva. Lot description is as
follows:
"LANGE & SOHNE 1815 - EMIL LANGE - MOON PHASE A. Lange &
Söhne, Glashütte i. SA, '1815 - Emil Lange - Moon Phase', No. 113/250,
movement No. 14158, case No. 124113, Ref. 231.031. Made in a limited
edition of 250 examples in 2000, sold in October 2000. Very fine and
rare, astronomic, water-resistant, 18K pink gold wristwatch with moon
phases and an 18K pink gold A. Lange & Söhne buckle. Accompanied by a
Lange & Söhne fitted box, Certificate, instruction manual and gold
push pin."
