I have a question regarding a review I read of the new Lange 1 and 1815 Up and Down.
A few months ago, Watchtime reviewed the 1815 Up and Down and gave it an overall score of 92 as per their category. In their Rate results category, they gave it 9/10 an said near perfection.
The current issue of Watchtime reviews the second-gen Lange 1, and it gets a total score of 88. However, in the rate results, it gets a 7/10, saying that the variations among the different dial position etc.
was way to large.
I know reviews and tests are highly subjective, whether is is the design, comfort, strap, movement, rate etc., but I am just curious as to why a brand new movement such as the revamped L1 get a 7 and not a 8 or a 9 on this test.
Does this mean that the L1 piece in question being reviewed was an 'early piece', or a 'prototype'?
Or is this a general reflection of the movement itself?
Or was it just having a 'bad rate-day;?
I am just curious. I know these are handmade watches and can never be perfect. I love the L1 and am seriously considering it.
Would love to hear from you all.
