4 years after its first presentation, the Saxonia Dual Time comes back and is changed in the context of the restyling of the collection to which it belongs. This pure aesthetic evolution is interesting to analyze because it hides behind the scene some det...  

.... I especially like the fonts layout, which is more inline with the original Saxonia. And yes, it is a pity that the Sax-0-Mat, perhaps one of the best looking automatic movement, is no longer available for the basic models. The central rotor just does... 

I think that we are not the only ones who regret this movement... Fx

I much prefer the 2015 version too. A more charming dial design and the right size at least for me I find it a shame though that: 1. The rotor is only gold plated and not solid gold - for a Lange? Strange decision 2. Where are there no gold chatons on the...

The objective was to reduce the thickness of the winding mass in order to make the movement as thin as possible. It is the explanation I got several years ago from Lange. But I regret too this change. Thanks Robin! Fx

I would be just as happy with the old as new but maybe that is just me. Either way whoever owns it is a winner!

You captured the differences very well and were able to pin-point why the newer version is more appealing. I saw the new one in NYC a few weeks ago and it did impress me more than the older model, but I do love the Sax-o-Mat movement and will probably hol...

I too prefer the newer model. The dial was to empty on the first version, I do wish this model had a date though. How do you have a dual time / travel watch without a date???? Patek is guilty of this as well! Tony

And I would say... even more with travel watches! I would fear to not remember if the date is related to home or travel time! ;) Fx

The size down is definitely welcome! Thanks for all the insight, a side by side view is such a good way to see the evolution.

...with your comments. In particular the reduced size is definitely a step in the right direction. My only reservation is the blue central hand. The sub-dial at 12 o'clock provides the second time zone and as far as I can understand the blue central hand ... 

you're in Newfoundland and set Tehran as second time zone ;) Aesthetics and size are an absolute improvement, although I did prefer the old Lange label in the arc at the top.
