Setting the Datograph Perpetual

 By: hoosier_horologist : July 20th, 2022-02:13
Hoping someone can give me a hand. I am taking delivery of a Datograph Perpetual in the near future, but am unable to find instructions online regarding setting the perpetual calendar. I don’t want to set things in the improper order and risk harming the ...

Welcome to the Forum! One suggestion...

... is to contact Lange USA HQ (800-408-8147) to request a manual or at least a PDF of the setting instructions. They might send it to you if nobody here can accommodate, though hopefully someone here who owns one will reach out. Congrats on the watch by ...

Thank you

I've taken the liberty of attaching pictures for the perpetual calendar settings here. Hope you find this useful! The quick adjustment via the 10 o'clock pusher is really one of the best features of the Datograph Perpetual. ...

Many, many thanks!

The process seems easy enough! Much better than my former Patek. I too am a huge fan of the quick advancement pusher at 12, all perpetuals should employ something similar!

Glad you got the instructions! Lange never did a good job promoting the single-push corrector...

 By: CR : July 23rd, 2022-14:51
The single-push corrector first appeared in Lange's first perpetual, the Langematik Perpetual, which was introduced in 2001 in platinum (310.025) and yellow gold (310.021). But it was practically a secret. Lange didn't advertise or promote this wonderful ...

The fact that they were so low-key about it was perplexing.

It's a really user-friendly features, and safeguarded from accidental advancements given that it can only be actuated when the crown is pulled out. Simple, but brilliant solution.

Just curious ...

Does the manual also recommend unwinding the crown one full turn after giving it a full wind? Apparently, on some models it is recommended in order to relieve the stress on the winding stem.

Yes, it does my friend.

 By: Rhyzen : July 24th, 2022-05:03
To be exact, the manual recommends an anti-clockwise turn to relieve the strain on the winding stem. This is also true for the other manual-winding Langes I owned.

Congrats! đź‘Ź
