A. Lange & Söhne

Hi Guys, A friend needs help identifying this piece. It appears to be a rather simple Lange produced in Glashutte. I'm not really a vintage Lange expert so I figured you perhaps have some input.. The way I see it its: A. Not from "the" A. Lange factory B....

Only a few hundred of these exist, hardly any in such apparently good condition. This appears to be the especially rare Caliber 28, distinguishing it from the 28.1 which soon followed, as did GUB replacing VEB on the dial. One feature is the blued antimag... 

I am not especially knowledgable in the period of German watchmaking, but here is my understanding: You most likely have a post-WWII watch, made in the period 1945-1951. The Lange of your watch is indeed the famous Lange, maker of WWII Beobachtungsuhrs ti... 

Thanks guys. It's an interesting piece. I agree on the pre-1951 date. I guess 49-50-51 is realistic considering the design and the use of VEB. Came with original box and papers. Sincerely, Morgan...
