I'm a big fan of it on a mesh bracelet. I did the same on my 101.035 but I don't do it often as I'm too scared about the scratches on the PT case.. ...  

I like the strap in your first photo a lot. The Milanese is interesting too - I've personally not seen that before on a Lange 1. Enjoy.
