No, I am not a big fan of these 200th anniversary fiasco models. But the owner of this one should be wholeheartedly congratulated. The "ceremony" was held on his birthday and we gathered at the boutique to celebrate. And we were all stunned at the number ...
Great post!

Great pictures of great watches. Thanks.
That's a very nice organized event for the owner

An experience we would love to share each time we get one. Congratulations to the owner and for his "interesting" number. And thanks a lot Ken for taking the time to share. The watches are beautiful in all black. Cheers, Mark
Wow!

That\'s pretty cool...oh, wait. Sorry. I\'m supposed to say: "zeeees is a fiasco and a travesty of a watch! Some limited edition! I\'ve seen more interesting Casio G-Shocks! All those lazy oafs at Lange can do is a black dial! Your mother was a hamster an...

Are poisoning me slowly to death for this anniversary Lange 1815. Truth be told - more and more I like this!! Congrats to the lucky owner and happy belated birthday #200 is the best number to get for this series IMHO Cheers Robin
I noticed this detail too

It looks like a Saxonia but the silver subdial is something I've never seen before: maybe a limited edition?

It's limited edition
By: KIH : September 26th, 2015-20:50
I don't remember for which limited edition it was, but there are very few of these. Ken PS: have you got my email?
Is "fiasco" the right word?
By: foversta : September 26th, 2015-13:23
I'm not with you Ken. If the question is to know if we were expecting more, the anwser is clearly yes. But sorry, no, I can't use the word "fiasco" for watches I would be happy to own and wear at the end. Congrats to the happy owner of this 200/200 piece!...
I understood what Ken meant.
By: foversta : September 26th, 2015-13:38
I understood that he was speaking in the context of the Anniversary. But I don't change my mind: fiasco is not the right word. Disappointment, yes. Easiest solution, yes. Fiasco no. Or the way I understand "fiasco" is not the same than everybody else. Fx
When marketing takes the path on horology, isn't that a fiasco?
By: amanico : September 26th, 2015-14:01
Let me say it differently: Now for Lange, an Anniversary watch can qualify only if the color of the dial changes? The concept is a bit cheapened, if it is the case. Which is a fiasco for the concept. Best, Nicolas
+1

They should do 169th anniversary for that matter.
Marketing-led products - arggggggh!

This is the tension we watch-fanciers have to deal with. We come to a hobby/interest/passion with relatively pure hearts and minds. We here are interested in the entire thing - the movement, its details, how it works, what it does and how it\'s finished, ...

Marketing plays a huge role at almost all watch brands. Which is logic because they are COMMERCIAL companies. Soccer- and basketball players who design Hublots and AP ROO\'s.... Rolex watches been tied to a submarine robot arm.... JLC\'s with a television...
Nico is right.

As a watch, another color variation of 1815, this is a great one which I would love to own, too. But it should be the regular model as one of the color variation of the new 1815, although shouldn't be the old too-big 40mm version, IMHO, as a small wrist p...
Thank-you Ken-san !

I agree , anniversary models should be more inspirational . But I am very happy to own it \(^-^)/ Black dial 1815 is what I wanted . Finally , thank you for coming !
For you to be happy, is the most important thing!
By: KIH : September 26th, 2015-21:44
Never mind my grumpy old man mumbling. You made a great choice and the interesting LE number is the bonus - to hold onto it for life, for sure! Again, happy birthday and congratulations!! Wear it for a long, long time with good health! Best, Ken
Thank-you again

This is what I wrote in my review one year ago

Because I can consider the 1815 "200th Anniversary FA Lange" from every angle, it is after all a mere variation of the existing platinum version (limited edition of 500 pieces) with the sole change of the color of the dial. The result is spectacular and o...
Some thoughts to counter the "con" arguments mentionned in this thread

...while I'm cooking my spaghettis I think we here are very demanding lovers and very pernickety when it comes to watchmaking. This is what makes our pleasure and maybe what fuels our will to go further into details. Sometimes maybe too much and I think w...

There is in fact no Pt 1815 in the actual catalogue. However, I found on a site that the last 1815 Pt was sold beginning in 2009 (limited to 500pieces) and was 30.100 € The 200 years is 31.500 €, so not more expensive. Otherwise would have led to a differ...
