Hi guys, I am seeking your opinions on servicing a Lange timepiece. I have a 1815 (40mm, rose gold) with me since 2011 (bought brand new). This year will be its 7th year with me. Winding is still silky smooth as before. I wear it 12hours daily (1.5 weeks ...

standard is +- 6s per day. If I were you, I wouldn't bother to service it until it's exceeding the COSC standard. I'd simply replace the worn out strap. Cheers, Henry

I’ll never send another watch in for service unless it is completely broken! If it’s time for service I rather sell and buy a new watch than risk it again!! So no don’t service it!!!

The only conclusion I'd draw from the fact that your watch is off by 1-2 seconds a day after 7 years is that you bought a great watch...

So I would do it before it starts acting up and cause unnecessary wear to the parts. However, given the excellent performance of your watch I would give it another few years. Maybe send it in at the 10 year anniversary.

You don’t need to send it for a full service as your Lange obviously works perfectly. Keep it at is. When brands tell you that a watch needs to be service every 5 years, it’s a lie. A watch must be serviced when it doesn’t work anymore or almost. The more...
