...I fully concur. Double split, triple split, cabaret, and another one with a fusee. All had the same quality level and quite a high one. Of course, they are using mechanized tools but they use them well enough so that a normal magnification level makes this little shortcut irrelevant. Well, some areas were left unfinished because hard to access with mechanized tools. That's a bit of a shame as it is part of the same movement but OK time is money. Their chain is really rough... But overall quality is rather impressive for a big brand like this. Assembly quality is the same level and considering the number of elements in a triple split, it is hard not to leave any mark there or there an I couldn't find any -big one-.
I think Lange is combining the advantages of a big manufacture with cost saving from large scale, and the care of a small independant. In other words, I don't think a small brand could acheive the same quality/price ratio for a chronograph. Margins would be too tight if any left. Even on a simple watch, I could say I'd wish Kari's anglage were as good as Lange's.
I had a Patek chronograph (PP seal) in the same time and that was totally different story. Top bridge anglage was made by rabotage (CNC diamond tool), the one right under was done with micromotor but probably on a late Friday afternoon and the lower one was untouched with vibrations all around.
Another one was a Vacheron recent chronograph that was in the middle.
