Isn't that what we call the " Dufourgraph "? Whatever is its nickname, I must confess that, even for a non colored metal fan like me, I find it extremely attractive. And, as always, the movement is a feast for the eyes. Best, Nicolas ...  

I've never been quite sure about the dial of the Dato 1st gen. But the movement is such a feast. Very iconic watch!

I find interesting how often people like this rose gold/black dial combo, while reasonably similar Patek's 5070j yellow/black is often considered too bright and hard to wear.

These never sat around at (former) ADs for very long. Many people prefer a black dial. And RG is more popular than YG in general, of course. The YG/black dial Gen1 Dato ("Yellowjacket") would not have been very popular if Lange had made more than a few do...

Although I prefer it in white metal, this iteration is beautiful too. This is the watch I’d like to wear when I’m a bit older, such a stately and imposing piece.

When the original Dato was available new, I was not open to the case size, it just seemed too small for me. When the newer Up/Down was released, I was smitten. The case size seemed more wearable to me, and the proportions seemed better. Now, that I am fin... 

For more than a decade after the Datograph was launched, I never loved its dial. It was too cluttered for me, and I'm not a big fan of chronograph dials in any case. But then I found myself increasingly drawn to the Gen1 Dato, and I've always preferred Ge... 

For once it would be hard to chose between the P and the R versions. The R "pops" so much. So eye-catching. John

The funny twist on the Dufour graph story is that Dufour actually preferred the pt version, but couldn’t afford it at the time.

I would love to see the Pisa version and this one in the metal.
