On the road with this one. It’s the only dressier watch I own that I’m comfortable traveling with these days.
Last weeks travel was accompanied by my Rolex OP 36. The right size, but as I get older I don’t like pairing steel sports watches with suits, jackets. I prefer a watch on a strap.
So this week’s travel brings the Lange. Although, it’s probably a bit too big to be worn with a suit or jacket.
I’ve been recently looking a lot for something interesting in the 34-38mm range, that is not too expensive but at the same time interesting and enduring. Interestingly, for me, I’ve been drawn towards some neo vintage Calatravas.

Could not agree more.
Evening time, roll up the sleeves this one is perfect. But with the jacket on, for my wrist, it’s just a little too big.
The problem is trying to find something “interesting”.
There are a few that I’ve come across which tick the interesting box, but I’m yet familiar enough with that landscape to be sure on a purchase.

…this one is 40.5mm, from about a decade ago. I think 38 would, as you suggest, be a better fit for this purpose. But I prefer this one, nicer dial, more interesting dial with texture and colour. And I prefer the sub seconds dial too.

Yes, too large for this purpose for me. (Emphasis on “for me”).
It is not even “dress watch” use case, it’s more “business casual”. I do think (for me) 34-38mm, depending on lug to lug, would be a better visual fit for these types of days. I used to wear my Chronometre Bleu a lot in these occasions in the past. But th...

to your ALS and the CB, even if these watches are great in their own right of course.
I’ve looked at them (both metals) a few times now.
I like the rose gold. But I also have a thing for the Little Lange 1.

The Little Lange 1 would give you some variety over the 1815 you already have. And, of course, ownership of a legend.

Indeed.
And of course Habring fits the bill too. But if I’m honest about it, I kind want something that carries a little more weight. Not physical, but social. Something that needs a second look to recognize, but not as obscure as Habring.

Bingo. That would be the right “fit”.
Funny enough it’s not always a watch that comes to mind for me. But you are right insofar as it being perfect sizing, and very interesting. Plus a lot of versatility.
