The Web’s Creator Speaks ...

Mar 12, 2019,02:26 AM

The World Wide Web is 30 years old and Sir Tim Burners-Lee, the web's creator acknowledged that many people doubted the web could be a force for good.

He had his own anxieties about the web's future. "I'm very concerned about nastiness and misinformation spreading”

He added that in recent years he has increasingly felt that the principles of an open web need to be safeguarded. In his letter, Sir Tim outlined three specific areas of "dysfunction" that he said were harming the web today:
  • malicious activity such as hacking and harassment
  • problematic system design such as business models that reward clickbait
  • unintended consequences, such as aggressive or polarised discussions
We all have to play our part in making “The Web” a better and kinder place.

I personally think that there is a link between the speed at which information and data can be shared today and the speed at which we are destroying the planet and the growing feeling of emptiness in new generations. Everything just goes too fast, work, c...

The people need to think about others...
