Hi, Ted! For a number of reasons..
Jan 22, 2023,15:35 PM
I have the good fortune of having both the 5015 classic in steel and the Bathyscaphe in 38mm with grey dial.
The Bathyscaphe has become my most worn watch since I got it in May of 2022. It is just super comfortable, love the case design, super legible, and all not to mention cool! It is also a strap monster, and most days I wear it on a nato, or even tropic straps.
Plus, I find it a sleeper hit and much to my liking, a wearer’s delight, therefore avoiding any unnecessary attention.
I’m actually thinking of complementing it with the blue dial sometime this year.
Both your options are great! The 43 size was also in the cards for me, but chose the 38 as to complement my classic FF and not have two larger cased divers, but in all honesty, I know I will fall for one soon enough as well .
Please keep us posted on your decision, Ted.
Have a great Sunday,
Alex

Own one, or thinking about acquiring a Blancpain Bathyscaphe? Which one, send images? Did you or would you choose over the Fifty Fathoms models with the wide, domed and very shiny sapphire-covered bezel , or Rolex Submariner? Please share thoughts! * Imag...

As much as you can’t miss with a Sub, I find the FF Bathyscaphe 5100B very attractive, mainly for its size (38mm) which is convenient for my small wrist and makes the watch more versatile overall imo. The sapphire caseback and the brushed steel are both a...

Can you tell me the reference number of the 38mm with grey dial you have?

My wrist is anywhere between 16 and 16.5cm, depending on the weather and how much my alcohol and sodium intake has been. LOL! I find it wears true to size, but long as far as lug to lug. One trick I’ve come to do is wear it on a nato strap and maybe a bra...

My favorite watch

I own the titanium bathyscaphe, and I wear it on the NATO strap. Fantastic watch. I am blessed to own some beautiful watches, and this is my favorite. Let me count the ways … 1/ High contrast hands on a brushed dial. 2/ Date window without a cyclops 3/ Be...

Recently got this limited edition Bathyscaphe from 2019 (Hodinkee collaboration). I always admired the Bathyscaphe and couldn't resist seeing one in a size I like so much. I do also have a submariner (LV). ...
I have one as well. Cheers!

Great wearable size. Clean dial and a nice view on the case back.
