Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe Limited Edition for HODINKEE, 5100 1130
This Blancpain watch is very interesting. HODINKEE and Blancpain used each other's wisdom and ideas to accomplish the following:
- The dial and hands tribute to the first Fifty Fathoms released in 1953
- Adopting a bezel with Liquidmetal that is closer to silver (maybe) than the current Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe 38mm
- HODINKEE logo engraved on the self-winding rotor
This watch was sold in a limited edition of 100 and sold out in a blink of an eye. Don't get me wrong. I couldn't buy it on the release date. It was sold out. To be exact, it was sold out when the last purchase confirmation button was pushed even though it went to the purchase screen. Registered to the waiting list immediately. After two weeks, I was lucky enough to get a call from the waiting list.
