Patek Philippe 5167/1A001

Hello Fellow Patek Philippe enthusiasts,

Yesterday, my AD  offered me an Aquanaut in steel, ( the 5167/1A001) which is the Men’s steel Aquanaut with the steel bracelet. He said he would include a black ( rubber) strap and deployant buckle just in case I wanted to switch out from the steel bracelet to the rubber strap sometime later.
He is offering this to me at a very good price ( with a slight discount). I looked on a couple of the sites that deal in after-market Patek and this model is being offered at anywhere from 5 to 10k premium over what my Authorized Dealer wants to charge me ( including taxes) .
This seems like a good offer.
I am not and never have been a “Watch Flipper”
kind of guy. I buy these things and enjoy them forever.
I was considering this Aquanaut as an alternative to my 5320g ( perpetual calendar) which has been my “Daily”for nearly a year.  I wouldn’t turn the watch for a profit, but it’s a great ( and for me very unique) situation to know that something I bought at retail could be worth more than I paid for it to someone on the after market.
My big question to our community is: What do you guys think of the Aquanaut on a steel bracelet? Do any of my colleagues here own one, or have any practical experience with the watch? I think it looks great and would have a “practical” place in my Patek Philippe Line Up.  I have yet to see the watch “ in the metal”.
Thoughts, Comments?

You are super lucky to buy an Aquanaut at retail. You must be a good customer.

I did hear that you can easily go from the bracelet to the rubber strap in the case of bracelet models. But this is not the case for a rubber strap model it is not interchangeable. You get the best of both worlds. Good luck. Bill

This is a common inaccuracy.

You can order the metal bracelet for the 5167A model and it will fit. I confirmed with my AD recently.

Thanks!

You guys talked me into it. I have committed to the deal and will pick up my new stainless steel Aquanaut tomorrow. Many thanks for the insight I truly appreciate the feedback from all of you.

Congrats on getting that offer ! I assisted my brother to get the ...

same watch from my AD and bought the rubber strap so that he has both versions. The bracelet version looks good as well and certainly brings a different feel vs rubber strap. Depending on your lifestyle, you can choose when to use which. Await your wrist ...

It's a really nice gesture from your AD I wouldn't pass on...the Aquanaut is indeed a very popular sports model, I'm sure most people would love to receive the same call from their AD! ;-)

It's very versatile, and probably the Patek I myself wear the most (never put it on a rubber strap, though that is also a good option). Go for it! ...

Congratulations. Your very lucky to get it. It's kinda hard to get one nowadays. 😊

Whether bracelet or rubber it's a winner. Geross

Early congrats, you will simply love wearing this Aquanaut and I actually prefer it on the bracelet...

I also have and prefer the 5164A Travel Time on the rubber strap but strangely I prefer the simply 5167/1A on the bracelet as I find it uber comfortable. Don't forget to post some wristshot 😉 ...
