Quintessential Calatrava???

After returning from an excellent holiday on the Portuguese south coast where I wore my under the radar Rolex Explorer I, I was longing for a more dressy watch. And here it is, my white gold Patek Philippe Calatrava with sector dial. For me the quintessential Patek Philippe, but also the watch that gets less and less wrist time since I bought the Aquanaut, but still a beautiful piece.

The strange thing is that when I see the Explorer in advertisements, pictures or on other people’s wrists I truly love the look, but when it is on my wrist it looks blend...That is why I have bought the Explorer a couple of times before, sold it and then ...

It's a very simple, unfussy watch, and I love the sector dial. It gives the watch some visual "oomph" in my opinion, vs some of the plainer calatrava dials. The blued hands are an additional bonus! ...
