The OMEGA De Ville Co-Axial : Establishing a new tradition

When it was introduced in 2007, the OMEGA De Ville Hour Vision heralded a new era for OMEGA. It was the watch that introduced the Co-Axial calibre 8500/8501 whose every part was created inhouse using technology which has defined the way mechanical watch movements will be made in the 21st century.

Innovative technology and elegant design
The new De Ville Co-Axial is also equipped with OMEGA’s state-of-the-industry technology in a wristwatch with timeless classic design. The 41 mm full metallic case body is available in either 18 Ct red gold or stainless steel presented either on an integrated bracelet in the metal corresponding to the case or with a black or brown alligator leather strap. The snapped caseback features a sapphire crystal which allows a clear view of the Co-Axial movement inside.

A classic dial
The two-zone dial on the 18 Ct red gold models is either white or brown; the stainless steel versions are available with white, black or blue dials. On all the models, the diamond-polished Roman numerals are applied to a zone which is subtly distinguished from the centre of the dial. The 18 Ct gold hour and minute hands are faceted with bevelled ends. The framed date window is positioned at three o’clock. The dial is clearly visible through the antireflective coating applied to both sides of the sapphire crystal glass.

A return to our roots
While the De Ville Hour Vision in 2007 was a milestone for OMEGA, it also marked a return to the brand’s roots. OMEGA was, after all, the first watch company ever to produce an industrialized movement. The De Ville Co-Axial collection elegantly expresses OMEGA’s continuing commitment to innovative watchmaking.
