I cannot explain the sense of joy when I pulled it out of the random backpack in the basement closet. If I hadn’t done that search, this watch would have probably been lost for years.

I should have put a little more effort into the shot. Next time I will - it’d been a while since I last pulled it out of the winder, and I just love that bridge over the tourbillon.

I think the tropic strap will work. Personally, I like the NATO strap, but this is for my father, and I don’t think he would like it.

Is it something to do with the watch?

I think tan would look good, but in keeping with naval tradition, black or navy blue would probably fit best. I’m actually partial to finding a stainless steel bracelet that would fit it as well.
