Hi folks,
This watch should be familiar with all, the first Royal Oak that started it all. This is an A serial and you won't be able to get any better with this piece. It is Serial A 88X. One of the recent Sotheby auction (this year) just went off at CHf 37,500 and condition of mine is certainly nicer. ;-)
When I wore this to the recent AP exhibition on the Royal Oak 40 years Anniversary, the AP representatives and technicians were awed with the dial condition.
Came with the original double box and service papers, and just went for a full overhaul from AP in Bienne with parts like dial & hands untouched. The rest of the parts replaced were also returned (apparently not their policy anymore, and it took me much pain to get the parts back). The whole servicing took around more than half a year to be completed and cost very close to USD4k alone). But certainly worth all the while. The original bracelet made by Gay Feres is in a stretched but definitely still useable, but I have been wearing it on an aftermarket bracelet (which I will include in this sale). The case is crisp sharp... and all the chamfered edges are just stunning.
I have sold a "lesser" condition earlier this year at around USD 20k, and I am asking for USD 24k for this. The dial is simply immaculate and it really can't get better as most that is being offered for sale are not as mint and asking for much higher sum. (check chrono24)
Here are the photos:
For trades, I am only looking to trade for a Patek 5296 only in the sector dial. Asking for USD 24k wired.
A solid decade of trade references upon request when we have a firm deal.
