Zenith Cronometro CP-2 for the Watches of Switzerland

Feb 21, 2018,05:38 AM

Last night I saw a few pictures surface of a new LE of 25 pieces released by Zenith in partnership with their UK retailer, Watches of Switzerland.

What do you think about the panda style dial and red accents?

Personally, I do like it but think it has lost its soul as a CP-2 and of course has nothing on our own P15 version!   I also think the new bronze version launched during Geneva this year is far stronger than this, but if you are a fan of red (and lucky enough to be one of the 25 owners), then it would tick all the boxes!

Cheers
Andrew

But can it not be customised anyway like that? I mean, there is an online service somewhere where you can customise it to the exact look of this one.

Yes the partnership between Zenith and Bamford

and I guess you could have one customised like this if you wanted... not sure the extra cost against buying one from the retailer. Cheers Andrew

Very nice!

I'd prefer it without the word "AUTOMATIC" on the dial, but it's a sharp watch. M4

Same here...

I really dislike the Automatic... but the rest is just cool.

You know my preference for chronograph separation anxiety

Andrew, I like the separation of chronograph and normal time displays. Also black dial and white markers for chronographs. The word 'Automatic' is redundant on the dial unless it is a legal requirement. 'Cronometro' designation on the dial is more romanti...

Andrew, I agree the original CP-2 soul is lost, or very different. BUT... this has a very cool "Tour Auto" vibe

I would put this on black perforated leather and never look back! Thanks for the photo.

Now that would a cooler look for this as more auto...

I think you could own both this and ours... they are totally different look watches and both great pieces to be enjoyed. Cheers Andrew

Like it!

late 60s, 70s racing chronograph. I can just imagine Derek Bell with this on his wrist driving a Porsche at Spa. ...

Personally, I love the touches of red!

Subdials seem a little loud, but overall, I think it's a nice piece!

It looks ok but lost its military looks imho!

PP and bronze are way better looking.

Very nice.
