The Loneliness of old documents and watches....
Jun 23, 2013,02:02 AM
until they are viewed and the memories and recollections of times past floods back, of significant world history that is about to unfold. Reveals old systems used that looks archaic now. Iconic Brands that have disappeared in a new world order.
I was preparing this for the post last week about Father's day but I was too busy to complete. So , fittingly I think it fits in to Damjan's theme this week. The old documents comprises old documents that I value. A piece of paper with my late Dad's handwriting. The watch is a bit lost in my collection now , but is the most important as I was given the watch to wear when I was only 21/2 years old. Somehow it survived because I somehow knew how to be careful with it even at a young age. I wore it of and on. It is a ladies Longines made in the 40's. The enamel dial was fungus ridden and regretfully a new dial was put in. I had it in a drawer until my younger sister's watch broke down and I loaned it to her. She was doing her masters in Biochemistry under Professor Carl Woods ( a IVF pioneer ) . The watch broke down once and I had it repaired which cost me a bundle in 1996. It is running a bit erratic like me nowadays.
I will not elaborate on the documents but will answer to questions. Those documents have dates that predates the Second World War.
P/s I purposely underexposed to make the documents look old
