to me for that entire line is 10/10. I don't think there exists any watch more versatile in application and only a few can match it. Cheers, Filip

It is distinctly different [nt]

Splendid

Gorgeous. Versatile (with interchangeable straps). Sporty. In-house movement with display caseback. Top-notch finishing. I don’t think it’s fair to compare this to the ceramic Daytona. Now if only it were a flyback...

Why not fair? Price? [nt]

Price and level of finishing of movement...

 By: Lankysudanese : April 17th, 2018-09:15
...the same way I wouldn’t compare a Lange chrono to the manual speedmaster. Different niches in my opinion

Different class then [nt]

The price different is not so much after rolex dealer mark up

Yep

 By: Lankysudanese : April 18th, 2018-00:13
Yep. Class difference. Rolex ADs (as per my understanding) shouldn’t be marking up new timepieces to sell them above MSRP, but I’m not sure if this is being followed faithfully. That doesn’t apply to “used BNIB” timepieces

Great looking watch…

my only concern is, that Vacheron is using a dial to conform with an existing design, instead of trying to break new ground.

I agree.

Isn't everyone recycling model? I thought every one likes and waiting for Panda from VC

Yes ! [nt]

I'd go with the VC, but consider the advantages/drawbacks of each

 By: Tim_M : April 16th, 2018-04:00
It's a far more substantial watch, but that needs to be balanced against the price disparity. If price is no issue, then consider these merits and drawbacks FOR *VC gives you two straps, a deployment in steel for the straps and a full bracelet with teach ...

Thank you Tim

Very thorough observation

I tend to Like VC overseas a Lot more on pictures, than in the Metal.

When comparing the oversea collection live to the Royal oak, I've Always prefered the Royal oak so far and I think this will be no different. Also, I would've prefered a black Date wheel with White numerals.

In full agreement

I was in love with the VC chrono when it first launched. But after trying it on several times, it just didn’t compare aesthetically to the AP. It’s a wonderful watch, but just not for me. Now if only AP could devise a similar strap replacement system and ...

This variant works the best so far I think

 By: Mostel : April 16th, 2018-09:05
Because that abominable date at 4:30 (IMO ruining the watch completely and being very un-VC) somehow works with this panda. Maybe because a panda has a semi generic quality--being used in so many watches of so many price points... "it could be anything".....

I am

 By: Gelato Monster : April 16th, 2018-17:19
cool with the date but would totally prefer it to be black date wheel with white numeral . At 60% it would be a great.

Nice, they could still go further

with a black DLC case and bracelet

Sorry but this just looks like Grandpa trying to get down 'wid da kids'

And versus a Rolex Daytona? Well, technically no contest. We can always argue the aesthetics. Overpriced by at least 50% too as borne out by real street prices. And still killed by the AP ROC despite its phoned in Jurassic 2385 Velociphile

Phoned-in 2385....

 By: Mostel : April 16th, 2018-14:25
man, that is some serious inside baseball... Not sure I agree though, I like VC's movement... I just haaaaaaaaate that 4:30 date. Funny the AP ROC gets away with it (although I don't like it there either, but its popular--and maybe that's why VC threw up ...

Thank you Mostel

IMHO VC is always better than AP in terms of movement innovation. Design is a bit too classical.

🤣

😂😂Thank you Velociphile

+1

I wish it had the big date like the gen 1 & 2 overseas chrono. That would be perfect! To me the big date was what made it stands out against it’s competitors. Best, David

or date at 6 [nt]

 By: Gelato Monster : April 20th, 2018-21:15

The blue was beautiful, but the black has my attention.

 By: watchestolove : April 18th, 2018-21:07
Too bad the date isn't at 6 o'clock, otherwise would be really hard piece to resist...

True

 By: Gelato Monster : April 19th, 2018-16:53
white background date location at 6 would make it perfect

Agreed,

 By: watchestolove : April 20th, 2018-20:56
Not sure why brands love doing contrasting date wheels... I'd much prefer color matched date wheels to the dial.

Looks great in photos......

.....but having tried on the blue dial chrono at a boutique, it wears too large and heavy for me. I DO love the time/date version ........I have the blue dial.......slimmer, lighter, and much less "busy", and I think the black dial looks like a great addi...
