This is Vacheron at apex

True to its history, reverent and faithful without resorting to rote or retrograde panders. And to think that VC grasped this concept in the early 1990s when this watch first appeared.
I can imagine a parallel world where cards fell differently, market tastes were read more clearly, better decisions were made at the management level, and VC still stands shoulder to shoulder with AP and Patek.
Fortunately, the onslaught of impressive high-mech and metiers d'art at this year's SIHH proves that it's still... not too late. From a pure product standpoint, I'm not sure that Vacheron has ever been stronger than it is right now. VC needs a circa-2010 Jean-Frederic Dufour or circa-1997 Angelo Bonati type to take absolute command and lead it out of the wilderness for a decade or so.
Best,
Tim
