Hello all,

I am new to the forum.

Please can someone tell me, which ETA caliber was used by Uylysse Nardin to create the ( N 11 NB ) 25 jewel automatic Circa 1970's.

Grateful Thanks

Ritter

Are you sure about the movement designation?

First of all, welcome to the forum! Unfortunately, I have never read about this particular movement designation (N 11 NB). Do you have any pictures of the watch, and, more important even, of the movement you could share with us? This would make it much ea...

Thank you kindly for your reply and welcome. The watch is marked on the rotor N 11 NB ... 25 jewels Automatic Ulysse Nardin. From the 1970's It has a pink plating rather like the Omega's. I sent the watch to my watchmaker, who found that the barrel had sp...

I must admit to being disappointed by the lack of responses for this movement recognition. I thought above all, that the members here would know which ETA movement this reference refers to. Regards Ritter

Sorry, we cannot take the blame ....

... While I understand that you are not happy for not being able to get parts for an unidentified movement, I think we, as a community, do not deserve to be "disappointed" about. And if you had any insight regarding the history of the Swiss watch industry...

Thank you for your reply

I am sorry if you misconstrued my message as one apportioning any blame to the forum for failure to identify the N 11NB I am apt as an ex Army Major, to speak directly at times an affliction left from a service career, which is sometimes mistaken in conte...

Problem no more ..

Just to let you know, the movement has been identified and the new barrel fitted, running again to COSC at +1 second per day. My watchmaker is about to fit the ancilliary parts and recase the movement for despatch tomorrow. According to my watchmaker, it ...

Good to hear! ....

... Now you got me even more intrigued by this mysterious movement, and I will try to find out more about it. A 2824 derivate is possible, even more so a modification of the 2637. I have to admit that I do not know anything about the 2837, except that it ...

Reply to Marcus.

Hello Marcus, It is the heavily modified 2837 high beat chronometer, with Day and Date and the movement is slim. Non quick change date, but quick change days. Only a few of these were made apparently and it is therefore within the ((rare)) category whatev...

I telephoned my watchmaker, who sourced the information from Paul Hubbard, somewhat an authority on ETA calibers, who quotes: The ETA 2837 is a 36.000 vph / 11.5 ligne high beat chronometer movement from the 1970's. Super rare, not found today except in h...

Wow!! The more important it would be for us to get some pictures of the watch!! ...

... I would really appreciate if you could make a few pictures of the watch once you have it back! And could you ask your watchmaker to make a snapshot or two of the movement, before he closes the caseback? I also think you have a real gem there, and it w...

Pictures will follow

Hello Marcus, As soon as the watch returns to me, I will take some photographs of case and movement. It would be nice to see the vintage section upgraded and the early great watches of Ulysse Nardin, appreciated a little more. The modern watches are nice ...

Thanks, looking forward to them! -nt

I am a collector of vintage high frequency watches and had the good fortune to obtain an NOS UN 36000 chronometer, cal NB11QU ETA 2826. This is a fine vintage watch, but not a rarity as yours appears to be. I also have a number of other watches with cheap...

Sorry for the delay in reply, but I have been a bit poorly lately with flu. Sorry too, for the delay in images, but the watch is still with my watchmaker. It was on test and apparently started seizing again, so new reversing wheels have to be obtained. As...
